About the temazcal.
The temazcal is an ancestral sweat lodge. The word temazcal means house of heat from the pre-Hispanic language Nahutl. It is built with the essence of the feminine. The dome shape represents the womb of Mother Earth and as you enter you reconnect with the pure divine love of the mother.
In the middle there is a circular stone pit where the hot stones, called abuelitas (little grandmothees), are placed. The pit represents the umbilical cord, a direct connection to the core of Mother Earth.
As we close the small door representing the birth canal, water is poured on the hot stones and the activation begins. Once inside, you will be guided by Edmundo & Cara's transmission as they drum, rattle, throat sing, activate thier primal lifeforce energy and offer verbal guidance.
There are four rounds lasting anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes. Once the final round is completed, you will be splashed with cold water to take your first breath as you are rebirthed anew.
Afterwards, we lay in silence for 15-20 before returning and sitting around a fire to connect and share our experience.

In the temazcal, you'll work the physical body as you sweat and release toxins. You'll work your emotional body as you release emotions that no longer serve you. You'll work your spiritual being as you connect with your ancestors, the primordial mother, the cosmos, God/dess and your divinity. You'll work your thinking mind as you gain clarity of your patterns and shadows while gaining a deeper understanding of who you are in your wholeness.
About Your Facilitators
Edmundo & Cara Mendez facilitate their clients through the extraordinary journey of returning back to the wholeness within themselves - the state of unconditional love and acceptance of all your parts. This path of liberation includes sacred plant medicine ceremonies, ancient sweat lodge ceremonies, in-person healing sessions, transformational retreats and coaching. In their work, they create a harmonious balance of the inner masculine & feminine energy archetypes that leads to full soul expression and a blissful life experience.
They are a married couple, entrepreneurs and parents to five beautiful children. They have been together for over 17 years and married for 9. During this time, they have navigated the roller coaster of entrepreneurship, marriage, parenthood, financial hardship and inner healing. There’s not much they have not faced together. Their journey together was not always easy but they remained deeply committed to their growth and have overcome many strenuous circumstances together, even when they weren't sure they would make it. Together, they have broken many generational cycles to create a new paradigm of love & bliss for themselves, their children and the clients they work with.
Cara walks the path of the Priestess, the sacred & holy woman. She is a liberator of sacred sexuality and a divine channel for the Primordial Mother. She practices tantra and is certified in Pranic Healing, NLP, Hypnosis, Emotional Freedom Technique, T.I.M.E. Technique & as a Success Coach. Her own personal healing journey has been her primary path of initiation for her soul’s divine remembrance of wholeness. She is the creator of the divine feminine mastery program, The Liberated Woman, as well as facilitates in-person healing sessions and mentors women privately.
Edmundo walks the path of a Shaman. He is a Tantra Practitioner as well as certified in Reiki, NLP, Hypnosis, Emotional Freedom Technique, T.I.M.E. Technique and as a Success Coach. He guides women in returning to their sacredness through facilitating sweat lodge & plant medicine ceremonies, retreats as well as in-person healing sessions by reconnecting them with Mother Earth.
What's Included
- 30 minute Meet & Greet upon arrival
- Delicious, handmade Oaxacan Cacao is served during the pre-ceremony ritual.
- There are Four Gates of the temazcal representing the four directions and elements. Each gate is approximately 20-45 minutes long.
- Fruit Infused Water is served throughout the temazcal to ensure hydration.
- Upon completion, we Integrate with the cosmos & earth.
- Nourishing, charcuterie-style Snacks are provided as we gather around the fire for an intimate Share Circle.
- For deeper support, we offer a Facebook Group for additional ongoing community support.
The entire event is approximately five hours long, 5:30pm - 10:30pm CT.
